How annoying. |\ Those robots at the streets... The monsters that keep hanging around...

They're going to keep making me late for work, eventually. I'm not going to be able to move up to being a proper scout anytime soon, at this rate.

I know. I'm not saying that you can't.

Just that it'd be easier.

Mmm... alright.

Knowing you, you'll work so hard they'll give you a promotion just to get you out of there.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
You're very driven, dear.

And you probably make the people you work with look like hopeless bums by comparison.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... Just be careful that you don't step on people's toes while you do.

Office politics can be tricky. And people can be very... spiteful.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
It could be bad, if said toe stepping was on a friend of your superior.

I know it's not something that comes easily, or naturally to you, but you might want to at least have the occasional conversation with your coworkers. Show them that can work well with the people they have there and everything.

If people like you, you'll get promoted faster than just doing a perfect job.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
More than that, Umu.

Getting to know your coworkers can also help you learn their strengths and weaknesses... as well as their connections.

...just remember to not force interaction when it's unwanted, unless they're the only one who can do what you need done for your job.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
...

I mean to try and act less cold and distant around them.

If people know you, then they also know who's doing the work, rather than having an impression of 'office fairies' doing it for them.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

I just worry that you won't get the position you deserve because you're... well... intimidating to them.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... I guess it's no use trying to tell you otherwise.

...did you ever tell me where I should pick you up?

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
It's more that, well, most people get 2 days off a week, let alone one.

Not to mention your long hours.

I'd think that'd require overtime, which most companies wouldn't want to pay.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
....Hmm....

I think we should drag you off for a couple days... during the week of course.

You might be surprised how it could help your job.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, of course.

You'd need to clear it with your boss anyway.

Maybe sometime next week.... though probably the week after that. I'll need to get things in order before finalizing any plans, but does it seem reasonable? I mean... it's basically only a weekend off... maybe an extended weekend... just during the week.
